Proud Father Day

My son Jake just passed his Civil Engineering PE exam this week. For anyone who has been through it, you know that test does not mess around. It is one of those milestones that separates the people who studied engineering from the people who are engineers.

Jake has always been his own toughest critic. Back in university he would stress over every exam, pick apart every assignment, convinced he had not done enough. Then the results would come back and he would be sitting near the top of the class. Every time. That pattern never stopped being remarkable to watch.

Passing the PE is not just a credential. It is the finish line of years of school, internships, practical real-world experience, late nights, and a whole lot of self-doubt that turned out to be completely unwarranted. He earned every bit of it!

I could not be prouder of what he has built for himself and the person he has become. And honestly, I cannot wait to see what comes next.

Cheers,
Shaan.
