But what if you don’t want to include your Layer table in your PDF plots?
I am not writing to teach you how to tie a digital balloon animal in AutoCAD (which is possible), but rather create Bill of Material Callout balloons more effectively in AutoCAD.
As a follow-up to the posting How to Change the AutoCAD Layout Background Color in response to a Twitter request, I showed how to change the Layout paper background color. But what if you just want a solid black background in Layout so that it looked like Modelspace or something easier on your eyes, here is the tip.
Bless its heart. The UCS icon has been through years of neglect with only occasional costume changes. Several versions ago they put it on WeightWatchers® which made it much less clunky.
In AutoCAD 2012, however, they have empowered the icon itself with multi-function grips!
Problem: Ellipses and Splines are ignored by the Presspull command when used as island boundary objects.
Workaround: Turn off Selection Preview.
Word to the Wise: Workspaces.
Workspace definition (per the Help menu): Workspaces are sets of menus, toolbars, palettes, and ribbon control panels that are grouped and organized so that you can work in a custom, task-oriented drawing environment.
I received the following question today while in my hotel room in LA and wanted to write a blog post with images to make the solution more clear, and perhaps assist others with the same question.
“My background in paper space is white with color lines, I want change color lines to black lines, I did once but is impossible to remember how I did it.”
What we want to do is change the Layouts Plot Style to black and white which is “monochrome”, and then select the option to show the Layout with the applied plot Style just as it will plot.
If you work intensively in AutoCAD 3D modeling, you probably already familiar with sub object. You can modify objects quickly and easily using vertexes. Gizmo in AutoCAD is very helpful. It is very easy to create 3D models in AutoCAD now. But have you used sub objects in 2D drawing?
For all you veteran AutoCAD users out there who like to TYPE most of your commands (and want to type C to launch Copy), this is for you.
How to Modify Your Command Aliases
1.. On the Manage tab >Customization panel, click Edit Aliases to open the file ACAD.PGP in the Windows Notepad.
