Check out the new Autodesk Labs http://labs.autodesk.com
This is the new and in process public betas and R&D projects site we are using to get tools in the hands of Autodesk product customers and get feedback to help the tools and ideas mature. There are already 2 tools featured for download. We have some really exciting projects to launch there in the next few weeks so check back often. The lab in Autodesk Labs is a play on words as Autodesk is one of the few large companies that allows employees to take their dogs to work we came up with labs like Labrador retriever but also like a lab where we cook ideas up.
Autodesk DGNV8 Translator Beta
Easily share AutoCAD® DWG and Bentley MicroStation 2D V8 DGN files among engineers, architects, and extended team members.
Google Earth Extension Beta
Using the easy-to-use, wizard-driven interface, you can publish your 3D models from AutoCAD 2007 based products directly into Google Earth™.
Today I am stopping by the Autodesk road show event hosted by Autodesk training center and Reseller Prosoft and being held in Salt Lake City Utah. I will be attending the AutoCAD 2007 presentation.
My coworkers Lynn Allen, Nate Bartley and Heidi Hewett get the hard duty of attending the Hawaii AUGI CAD Camp. WAAAAAH 🙂
Cheers,
Shaan
Hi Shaan (or anyone connected with Mr. Hurley);
I notice that you mentioned “2D” for the DGN/V8 translation Beta tool.
Would the “labradors” have plans to next move into a 3D model also – hopefully?
TIA
Don Reichle
We have 3D support on our list but wanted to get 2D completed and correct first. There will be updates to the beta as we progress.
How can I download DGN/V8 translation Beta tool. I would like to try it!
Thanks
Thank you for your question. The DGN V8 tool was on the Autodesk Labs website for a limited time and then added to our current shipping products.
You can use both MicroStation V7 and V8 2D based files in AutoCAD 2009 based products.
Best Regards,
Shaan
