  1. I tried it. Here’s what I got:
Wooops! Our server is temporarily offline.
In 10 seconds you will be redirected to My.cadbot.com, if not click here to go directly.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  2. Yes of course I did try cadbot and have used it to find some things in its library in the past… 😉
Is it perfect, nope but it is an option when it works and there is always google file type searches.
It looks to me they are doing some updates or changes which is why after I wrote the post and qued it for while I was MIA in Central America that the site changed. I really do not have any control or inside knowledge of their sites development. 🙂

  3. Scott,
Sorry for the 10 second exercise. Perhaps it is cruel payback for all the DWF Viewer update checks I am told to make on launching even when there is no updates available. ;-)..

  4. Hi, we may have something that suits your needs.
I’d like to mention first I work at a company in the Netherlands called CAD & Company. We have developed a product to help with searching and indexing dwg files: CAD & Company DWG IFilter.
Our newest release DWG IFilter 2007 reads dwg files up to AutoCAD 2008. It will be available very soon. Please use the 40 day trial period to try it out; also free use is allowed for non-commercial desktop use to support for example Windows Desktop Search.
The product it targetted at SharePoint, MOSS, WSS; and we find people using it in many other ways.
Please check http://www.cadcompany.nl\ifilter for availability of the new version. For questions, drop me an email at ifilter@cadcompany.nl.
