AutoCAD Release History

Before a product name is locked in, it usually starts life with a codename. It’s how teams keep projects straight and conversations private while development is still underway. The tradition goes back to the early 1980s when even the first AutoCAD builds had internal codenames. They helped track versions, avoid leaks, and added a little personality to the process. For the people building the software, those codenames often stick in memory long after the release name does.

I have versions of Autocad from REl 2 to Rel 12.
Is that of any interest to anyone

Hi Leslie,
If you are looking for a good hone to archive them as CAD History, I’m happy to offer the shipping. Old AutoCAD and Autodesk memorabilia should never just go into the recycling bins.
Cheers,
Shaan

Good Day,
I had to re-install AutoCAD 6 Mechanical on a new computer. Is there a location for the service packs from this old software?
As a side note I don’t know how to determine the exact version # to make sure I get the correct service packs.
Also I’m still use ACAD 10 on a 486 computer running up to 10 virtual DOS machines at the same time using OS2 Warp 3.0
My old 1988 engraving machine manufacturer never upgraded to new software so I run what I have.

I have a copy of Dale Evans “Outside Autocad..” for Release 12, with 5 1/4 diskette, looking for a home. Otherwise off to the recycling bin.

is that autocad 1992 and older version (R10,R11,R12) file will open in Autocad 2020?

Yes, current releases open most older version formats.

do you still have the release 12 autodesk ACAD?

Maria says:

I am commenting to let you know what a terrific experience my daughter enjoyed reading through your web page. She noticed a wide variety of pieces, with the inclusion of what it is like to have an awesome helping style to have the rest without hassle grasp some grueling matters.

Needed to compose you a very little word to thank you yet again regarding the nice suggestions you’ve contributed here.

mpressive content! This is a valuable resource for CAD Drawing. Thanks for sharing!

I and my friends were going through the nice, helpful tips from the blog then the sudden came up with an awful suspicion I never expressed respect to the website owner for those secrets.
