I am new on this blog and don’t know if this is where I can ask you a question.
I do remember on AutoCAD lite ’07 or ’08 where a floor plan seemed to be x-ref into a drawing to copy and compare parts on the new plan being drawn. What I remember was that the x-ref plan was in mode in which it can be only seen, not snaped to or erased but just a goast in the background. The lock command still allows to snap to it, so it is not only this but a commlete unsnapable x-ref. So my question is; Is this a fluke or is there really an option to do this? I am in a new firm and trying to do the same. I would really appreciate your input on this , it is really frustrating me.
Thank you and I appreciate you time.
Rene,
Welcome! I think what you are explaining is expected behavior and while you can select the Xref, you cannot edit it.
Give a try to this possible way to more limit selecting the Xref.
Go to Tools>Options>Selection then for Grip options unselect the option “Enable grips within blocks”.
Thank you for reading Between the Lines blog.
Cheers,
Shaan
