Lee Ambrosius has updated the AutoCAD Command Map on his website for those wanting to search and see the command history since AutoCAD R12 and what has been added, modified, or deprecated through the many years.
This project is near and dear to my heart and was started 10 years ago when I started at Autodesk. I figured surely there must be one master command list with history, but there was not and I set out in my free time to make one. Lee has since gone way beyond the old spreadsheet and PDF format I released back in 1998 with a database driven system and put in a great deal of work and research on his own time.
