In addition to all the electronic versions of the AutoCAD 2010 documentation there is an option to receive printed guides. When you receive your AutoCAD 2010 product most customers will find a small paper insert inside the DVD case with details on obtaining your choice of a printed document free. I chose the AutoCAD 2010 Users Guide.
The reason for not shipping each seat of AutoCAD 2010 with the product is based on being conscience of the environment. Not everyone really wanted the printed documentation and preferred to save some trees. We actually received a great deal of feedback about the wasted paper in all the AutoCAD documentation.
All documentation is built into the Help inside AutoCAD
The PDFs of all documentation are on the DVD in the folder \en-US\SetupRes\Docs\.
I was pleased to see AutoCAD Architecture 2010 & Max arrived in a much smaller, disc box sized, packages too.
Previous releases were in oversize boxes packed out with bubbles of air (presumably Singapore air as ours come from there) which seemed like a waste of resource.
