I have received a few questions on the amount of storage people are allowed on AutoCAD WS. I figured rather than continually answering in Twitter and blog comments on this topic, that I would post a quick note about it.
It is an easy answer:
“What is the storage limit on AutoCAD WS?”
Answer: There are no limits for storage at this time but there is a 15MB DWG upload restriction.
The other common question.
“When will there be Android support?”
Answer: Future directions are all being researched by the busy AutoCAD WS Team and Android is certainly on that list of things to consider for the future.
Get out there and use the Free AutoCAD WS and AutoCAD WS Mobile. I want some photos of people using the products for some upcoming blog posts. You could get fame and fortune, ok fortune might not really be involved but it is a nice goal to reach for.
Cheers,
Shaan
Any possibility that this technology will be available for Revit files in coming months?
You can use it in Android phones with flash support. But use AutoCAD WS web application in a mobile phone is not the best way of work.
Just an issue I can see coming up, with regards to storage, there are some companies out there with “strong IT departments” that might not like their files stored on a server outside their control. We are one of those companies and it will probably be an issue for governmental drawings, especially DoD related drawings.
I realize it is probably not in the works; but it might be something for the developers to consider. In otherwards, having the end user specify their servers to be used on their cloud. This could even be true if a company already pays for a cloud service with another cloud provider.
