Press Release Autodesk Brings AutoCAD Back to the Mac
AutoCAD for Mac – Getting Started Videos http://bit.ly/bIXMUg
After a few years of development and millions of lines of code this first native AutoCAD for Mac is a giant leap forward in providing Autodesk customers the choice of platforms for their trusted AutoCAD and DWG files.
With the great deal of anticipation for the native OSX version of AutoCAD it will be crowded download line which could cause network congestion and slower download speeds in the initial rush to download the long awaited release. We just recovered from the over quarter of a million new users in under 2 weeks that immediately went to use new & free AutoCAD WS for all major web browsers and the AutoCAD WS Mobile products for the iOS devices like the iPad blowing away our expectations and bringing servers to their knees. We are now comfortably scaled up with AutoCAD WS but I dare another 250,000 to sign up in the next two weeks. ;-).

Hello Shaan,
In wich language AutoCAD for mac is available
Thanks
Eric,
English is the only language provided at this time for AutoCAD for Mac.
Best Regards,
Shaan
It doesn’t work on MacBook 5,1 … I don’t know why …
The system requirements require as a general rule of thumb Mac hardware newer than 1 year due to some graphics hardware updates from Apple. To check the requirements please see the page:

I’ve tried downloading the free trial for mac on the autodesk site. What comes up first is the Akamai Client Installer App. So I try to install that and the message that comes up is..Install Error…Failed to install client: Disk I/O falilure. Failed in writing contents of the file/Applications/Akamai/client.ini to disk. Aborting installation. So it won’t let me install the trial. I have a Max OS X version 10.5.8 Processor 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. It’s a fairly new computer we purchased it May 09. Any ideas what I can do? I have been doing some reading and some say that the Akamai file can cause problems with your computer. Especially spam and virus troubles. I’m not interested in that, but would like to try this cad program if at all possible. Thanks!
Elias,
I am sorry to hear you are experiencing a problem with the Akamai downloader.
I have never heard of any issue with spam or a virus with Akamai. The Akamai downloader is used to allow large file downloads and restart of the download if an interruption occurs. You can uninstall after you download the AutoCAD for Mac trial. You can also read the Akamai trouble shooting page http://www.akamai.com/html/misc/akamai_client/dlmv2_tr.html
Sincerely,
Shaan
