Point noted by our friend Robin down under in New Zealand that the announcement for them will actually be August 17th: AutoCAD Design 8.16?.

This combined with all the other recent announcements from Autodesk would be cool if Autodesk could support the products that are out there now. Like Acad for Mac 2011 to work with Lion. I mean, come on, Lion was not a mystery before it was released in July. Developers have had access to it for more that 6 months prior to its release.

Thank you for your comment. Any OS updates are not trivial as they ripple in their impact to code and testing. In fact many OS (that includes Microsoft as well as Apple) releases change the API right up to the shipping date making it just that much more of a whack a mole and expending of resources.
