Bill was a rare human that no matter what was going on, Bill made you smile or laugh. Bill Adams has been a longtime smiling Revit BIM and Star Wars loving Autodesk community member at AU, AUGI, the Internet (yes the entire Internet) and honestly everywhere where he could. He was always, and I mean always the first to wish this blog a happy anniversary even making a cake at 7 years or wishing me a birthday especially since he was a day ahead down under in Australia.
Its rare to meet someone that good through and through and equally as hard when that light in our community is extinguished. My deepest condolences and thoughts for your family and friends Bill. And I know that everyone you ever met is a friend, and they are better for that and so are we.
Communities aren’t just groups of like minded people, they are humans with hearts – and Bill’s was BIG. I lost my top Between the Lines blog reader and cheerleader, and I too was a fan of Bill. I’m going to miss Bill. The world wont be the same. I’m probably going to check this post often to see if I get a cake and comment from him out of habit, but sadly not expecting his comments this time.
I only included two of the hundreds of photos of Bill that I have, bit I just could look through the photos today, not yet.

What a beautiful eulogy to an absolutely amazing human being.
I had the absolute pleasure of knowing and working with Bill for over 22 years. Bill was always so generous and welcoming. He certainly welcomed me into the Building Designers Association if S.A. And the BDAA. Bill helped me enormously when I was doing training sessions in engineered timber design and layouts. Bill was always forthcoming with sound advice and wise counsel whenever it was sought. He also went out of his way to include you in every group with which he was involved.
Bill never complained about his own life situations. He just got on with it. I often used Bill’s cheerful personality and manner as an example of a person who just got on with the job; whatever it took. Bill was such an inspiration.
Bill will always remain in my heart as a true and dear friend.
R.I.P. dear friend. You can rest now, knowing you did everything possible to overcome these terrible problems that had beset you.
I extend my deepest sympathies to your dear wife Karen and your family.
I am just so glad you were able to enjoy some wonderful cruises and holidays with your wife and friends following your well deserved retirement.

I met Bill when I was touring Australia and presented at his user group. I encouraged and pushed him to run for the AUGI board. He later shot me an email telling he had done just that and he was so grateful to have taken the plunge into the community and been able to experience the love. He got to meet so many people and enjoyed every single one of them.
Such a loss. I can’t even think straight right now to say anything meaningful…
Our AUGI family will miss this member greatly! I was blessed by him and his wife Karen by them gracing me with their friendship and love for many years.
