I to have been searching for some reference on this subject.
I am a 8 micorstation user (ARCHITECTURAL)in Australia and now moved to Texas U.S.A and found
that i must re-train in order to find a ob as most architectural firms use autocad.
On top of this im having to move from the metric system used in australia to the imperial system.
is there any command in autocad which can make this transition between metric to imperial?
i know in microstation you can change the design file properties so you can draw in millimetres and then dimension in inches and feet??
please help

AutoCAD does not use units like MicroStation you just draw 1 to 1. with the dimensioning and scales you can set alternate units.

hey, as he said before, you draw one to one, but if you draw everything in metric then you can simple use the scale command to change it from meric units to imperial. so you 254 mm line would become a 10 in. line when scaled.

So it’s been 8 years since you put out this original query, and I see that no comments actually provide any textbooks or online resources for microstation users migrating to autocad.
Are there any?
I’m so lost without accudraw. OSnaps just aren’t the same.
What I found was most just take AutoCAD training or get an AutoCAD book. Like many things there are some things on each side of the software fence that may seem better or just take time and training to getting used to new work flows.
