Free AutoCAD DWG Viewing and Editing Online

There is a free technology preview of AutoCAD DWG file viewing and editing made possible from your web browser utilizing a cloud of network computers and Autodesk Labs Project Butterfly. You can easily view, edit, and collaborate with others without installing anything on your machine or those you share with. Just upload your DWG, DXF, JPG, PNG, or even a ZIP archive with external references (Xrefs). On July 1st there were many updates released to this web based Project Butterfly.

I was recently asked for the popular Autodesk Design Review product from Autodesk (which is free) is currently Windows based, to be considered for other platforms. It appears the Autodesk Labs Team is working on some cool things and discuss the possibility of Autodesk Design Review on the Apple iPad.

Project Dragonfly Set Free as Autodesk Homestyler

You can now use the free 2D & 3D home design software Autodesk Homestyler online in the cloud. This project was initially the Autodesk Labs Project Dragonfly and has now graduated from the Autodesk Labs to an Autodesk official product in beta. This is a great solution to do initial planning or layout of home design.

AutoCAD Freestyle Technology Preview, was Project Cooper

I have previously mentioned Project Cooper on this blog, but now we have given it a more formal name. We asked you to name Project Cooper (Project Cooper - Give it a New Name - Between the Lines) and so after feedback it has now been named AutoCAD Freestyle.
