With only 145 days until Autodesk University 2011 in Las Vegas, I thought I would provide some unofficial Autodesk University history for remembering and perhaps for those that participate in those super geeky CAD trivia games.
For those counting down the days to the big event Autodesk University in Las Vegas Nevada at the Venetian there are only 179 days left.
Recently I was honored to be presenting at the Autodesk University Extension event along with fellow ‘deskers Lynn Allen, Thom Tremblay, Nancy Tremblay, and Jim Cowan at the Digital School in Edmonton Canada. The Digital School is associated with Autodesk Training Center Global e-Training. You may remember Global e-Training if you attended AU 2010 and saw the only two story booth in the exhibit hall.
If you were planning to present a session at Autodesk University this year but have not submitted your session proposal you are down to a few days. You have until May 6th to get your proposals submitted for review and consideration.

Just read on Twitter from @AutodeskU that the call for Autodesk University speaker proposals will begin next month. So start formulating your ideas for a class or lab at Autodesk University 2011.
At Autodesk University 2010 I presented several labs and lectures (8+) on AutoCAD for Mac. I created a handout for one lecture AC333-3 "I am a Mac and a PC": AutoCAD® for Windows® and Mac® – We Both Speak AutoLISP® and Command Line.
I am sharing this handout which contains some good tips and information I covered in the1 hour lecture.
It has been a great Autodesk University this year. Great attendance of over 7000 in person and around 20,000 at AU Virtual, great general session, great keynotes, great classes and speakers, great beer bust, great food, great mixer and social events, and an awesome preview of the upcoming TRON: Legacy movie.
Tonight was a mix of socials and mixers for several groups including the two I attended, the Press & Blogger Social and the AEC Mixer. Both were outstanding and held at the House of Blues located in the Mandalay Bay. The Press & Blogger Social was packed wall to wall with several Autodesk executives, product teams, as well as the industry press and several bloggers. There was great food and drink including the special “desktini”.
At the AEC Mixer about 1200 people were treated to a group of Autodesk employees playing in a band named AEC /DC. The AEC Mixer then headed up 64 floors to the Foundation Club high atop the Mandalay Bay and what a view there was from up there. It was a blast!
The official start of Autodesk University 2010 starts in the morning with the General Session Keynote. Don’t miss this general session as there will be great speakers and technology featured.
