I have posted to this blog regularly for over 8 years and even found remote connections to post to the blog even while in the deepest of the Brazilian Amazon rainforest. Over the next couple of weeks I will be in a extremely remote region without any real connections other than voice satellite phone. To save me from having to stand in the middle of an open area to try to post a message at a very slow speed oer a satellite phone and looking like a fat juicy meal to a large carnivore, a few bloggers have graciously provided guest posts. The guest posts will go live over the time I am traveling.

Yes, “Dances With Elephants” is the title of this new blog by Autodesk’s Jim Quanci and very fitting when you understand the purpose of the new blog. The blog is not about literally dancing with a two ton pachyderm, but instead a metaphor for the small companies working with large companies.

This Between the Lines blog is now on Google Currents for iOS & Android devices. Google Currents is an application for your mobile device that allows you to easily browse online content and feeds similar and most likely the Google response to Flipboard.

I just published the survey page (http://svy.mk/nIpQLI) to gather information on those wanting to be considered for a limited number of invitations to the Autodesk University 2011 Blogger and Media Reception. The reception is planned for the evening of November 28th. If you blog or Tweet in social media about Autodesk or Autodesk products and plan to attend AU 2011 then this is the crème de le crème event.
I want to thank all the readers of this blog and followers on Twitter @mrcadman account. This blog has been active for over 7 years now and the number of visitors has continued to grow, but the methods and clients for reading the blog posted content has certainly changed over that time.

As of February 1st I have moved to the Autodesk Labs group within Autodesk as a Technology Evangelist. It is a full circle for me as I developed the first Autodesk Labs site and posted several projects back in 2006, now I finally get to work in the group. I will be working with the teams supporting and evangelizing the Labs hosted technologies to current and future customers.

We are holding the Blogger Social Event once again after a fun and successful event the past 2 years. The event is for bloggers who actively blog on Autodesk product and events not really for blogs about their unicorn training, bacon weaving, or wicked butter carving skills. There will be a large group of bloggers and Autodesk employees attending in this casual social networking environment to place names to faces. Face to Face networking F2F.

Last Wednesday Autodesk UK hosted a Blogger Meetup event at the London Soho office. The social event was held to allow people to come and play with AutoCAD for Mac and AutoCAD WS on the iPad live and see it for themselves before it ships this Fall.

On this day in 2003, Between the Lines blog was born.
