CAD Campfire?

I work remotely now from Utah and thought “hey CAD camping, why not”. Perhaps this year or next I can organize an informal campfire discussion outing. Imagine discussing all sorts of ideas and topics and exchanging knowledge in a real camp under the stars with a campfire roaring. Topics could be CAD, 3D, animation, visualization, IT, and all topics of a geek nature. It is just something I was thinking about since here in the Western United States and Utah we have so many campgrounds and natural beauty. So this is just something I thought we be fun for those and their families that could make it. Bring your fishing poles, sleeping bags, and campfire stories instead of dressing up and watching PowerPoint in a room of uncomfortable chairs. I will kick the idea around and see if this is something that could really be done and the interest levels.

  1. Sounds awesome but I couldn’t justify the trip just for that. Although I do have family in the Provo/Spanish Fork area.
Perhaps AU could rent out a few campgrounds in parks near Vegas during AU although it would be kind of cold for those folks who aren’t hardy northerners like myself.

  2. Hey I’m for this. As long as the price of gas stays under $4.00 a gallon I’ll bring the Murph Bus, otherwise I’ll tie a bedroll on the back of the HOG.

  3. Absolutely; I am so there. Southwest flies into SLC which should help keep it affordable for most. Event entrance fee is firewood & chocolate bars. I’d be willing to help anyway I can. Lemmeknow.
