Did you know that if you purchase wither AutoCAD 2013 for Windows or AutoCAD for Mac 2013 you can activate both using the same license? Yes you can use same license to activate both (2 machines in 12 month period). The same goes for AutoCAD Product Suites.
Example:
You use both a Mac and Windows machine and want to use native AutoCAD versions on both platforms. You purchased AutoCAD 2013 for Windows. Do you need to also purchase AutoCAD for Mac 2013, the answer is no. Just activate the AutoCAD for Mac using the serial from the AutoCAD 2013 for Windows. You can activate 2 machines in a twelve month period. So you could purchase AutoCAD for Windows or the AutoCAD Design Suite then download the trial AutoCAD for Mac and activate it. Both Windows and Mac versions can also be licensed on a network license server.
The DWG files are exactly the same. Many of the customizations such as LISP, Scripts, Sheet Sets (Project Mgr. Palette on Mac) are compatible so you can work in a mixed environment.
So if you have users in your company that prefer a native Mac version of AutoCAD, they can easily do so and use the AutoCAD for Windows license and/or server.

Shaan this is awesome except the akamai installer isn’t finishing the download job – it fails to initiate the trial’s download after installing akamai.
I don’t know what to0 tell you on the Akamai downloader it works for me.
Choose the alternate download method option mentioned in the download dialog as it will provide the direct download option for your browser.

hmm, I’ll have to have someone here try acad on their mac. I had not heard it was full strength, but hey, if the apple users are ok with the apps for iphone compared to android, I’m sure they would not mind a watered down acad (macad…). Curious to see how much though.

Is this only valid for AutoCAD 2013 or does it work with previous versions (2010-2012)?
Also, where do you find serial numbers on a Mac? I read they are located in the registry on PC’s, but we have 2 Macs at work with licensed software that we are trying to transfer over to PC’s, and no physical disks, boxes, subscription centers, etc.

I assume this isn’t just technically possible but also legally acceptable; is it documented anywhere, such as in the EULAs?
