Project Photofly is now 123D Catch

Project Photofly has now graduated as an Autodesk product and is now named 123D Catch beta. This is exactly what Autodesk Labs is for in that we incubate early technology to get feedback and support whether there is enough demand and promise to make it an Autodesk product.

Project Photofly now known as 123D Catch is now in the 123D line of consumer products to make 3D available to all. Some other 123D products are 123D, 123D Sculpt, and  123D Make.

Project Photofly has consistently dropped jaws since launching on Autodesk Labs. You can use your digital camera even a mobile phone camera to generate 3D models and videos.

What is different with this new version of 123D Catch?
Besides Project Photofly having a new name and being a beta of an official Autodesk product now the biggest change is the User Interface of the product and the mesh engine.

The most noticeable UI changes are the new tool bar and icons, gradient background, and some terminology.
 

You can Capture almost anything in 3D from heads to sculptures, archeology, architecture, fossils to even things like an ant hill.

If you are a Project Photofly veteran user, uninstall your old version and download and install the new version and expect to see  even better mesh results and mostly without the need for any manual point matching required. You may also notice the initial draft as the first result is now no longer present as it goes direct to the standard quality mesh.
